Idera Speeds Microsoft SQL Server Backup and Recovery with New Version of SQLsafe

SQLsafe version 4.5 offers time-saving object-level recovery of database tables.

Houston, TX August 28, 2007 - Idera, a leading provider of management and compliance solutions for Microsoft SQL Server environments, today announced the availability of version 4.5 of SQLsafe, the company's award-winning high performance backup and recovery solution for Microsoft SQL Server environments. SQLsafe version 4.5 speeds SQL Server database restores with new object-level recovery functionality that enables database administrators to restore individual tables instead of entire databases, dramatically reducing database restore times and downtime.

"I am very impressed with SQLsafe," said Roy Forkner, DBA, Winstead. "The new Object Level Recovery features in SQLsafe version 4.5 enabled me to quickly restore specific tables instead of the entire database. Besides being very easy to do, it saved a lot of time. If you need a quick and reliable backup product, I highly recommend SQLsafe."

SQLsafe provides a high-performance backup and recovery solution that reduces database backup times by up to 50% over native backups and saves disk space by compressing data by up to 95%. SQLsafe also offers "hands-free' automated backup of multiple SQL Servers, centralized monitoring and management of all backup jobs enterprise-wide, and five levels of encryption to help database administrators ensure compliance with corporate data security and backup policies.

"SQLsafe proved to be a very impressive and fast backup solution for us during our recent Itanium server migration," said Mike Dominick, DBA, Big Hammer Data. "The new version of SQLsafe allowed us to backup 175GB in 30 minutes and do a full database restore in less than 15 minutes - running over the network. Everyone on my team was shocked when I turned the new databases over so quickly for final configuration and testing."

Recently selected as one of the industry's best solutions in the SQL Server Magazine Editor's Choice Awards and recognized as a 2006 Product of the Year by SearchSQLServer, the new version of SQLsafe version 4.5 also offers these new features:

o Support for Microsoft Vista: The SQLsafe Management Console provides centralized management, monitoring & control of all SQL Server backups enterprise-wide. It can now be deployed on a computer running the Microsoft Vista operating system.
o Full Support for 64-bit Environments: All components of SQLsafe can now be run on 32-bit or 64-bit hardware, in both homogenous and mixed environments.

Pricing and Availability

SQLsafe v4.5 is available now and offers a straightforward pricing and licensing structure of US$995.00 per SQL Server instance. For additional information or to download a 14-day evaluation copy of SQLsafe version 4.5, please visit: www.idera.com.
