ICOP Digital Announces Commercial Launch of ICOP LIVE(TM)
New Internet-Enabled Live Streaming Solution for Crisis Management Now Available Nationwide
LENEXA, Kan., May 27 /-- ICOP Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICOP), an industry-leading company engaged in advancing digital surveillance solutions, today announced the commercial launch of ICOP LIVE(TM), a wireless, audio and video streaming solution designed to provide real-time situational awareness to first responders, emergency managers and crisis coordinators.
"A key competitive differentiator of ICOP LIVE is its ability to live stream real-time audio and video to nearly unlimited viewers simultaneously. Furthermore, there is no need to load special software on the receiving devices," stated Dave Owen, Chairman and CEO of ICOP. "To our knowledge, there is not another live streaming solution available that has our unique capability to positively influence the outcome of a crisis or crime-in- progress with this level of real-time situational awareness."
ICOP LIVE relays critical real-time information to multiple first responders before they reach the scene, as well as to those engaged in remotely monitoring an event or crisis in real time as it unfolds. The solution enables video to live stream to and from a first responder vehicle -- over wireless networks (including cellular networks, mesh networks, etc.). Moreover, law enforcement can live stream video from the ICOP Model 20/20(R)-W digital in-car video system installed in their vehicles to police headquarters and/or to multiple remote internet-enabled Windows(R) devices, such as smart phones, PDAs, laptops, desktops, etc. Further, the video can live stream to multiple authorized viewers simultaneously, all using secure protocols and without requiring special viewing software. High quality audio and video are recorded on the ICOP Model 20/20(R)-W (or ICOP Model 4000(TM) -- onboard digital recording system for mass transit) and stored on a local server for future use as unimpeachable evidence in court, if applicable, and/or for post- event analysis.
Beginning in March 2008, ICOP conducted a national beta test to affirm ICOP LIVE's functionality and user compatibility in real world applications of the technology. By involving agencies of varying size and scope serving a wide range of community profiles, ICOP garnered greater perspective on how first responder agencies, big and small, can best utilize the technology to confront and deal with crisis, crime-in-progress or other events that may compromise public safety. ICOP has successfully demonstrated how law enforcement can leverage the technology to gain real-time insight into local gang activity and other covert surveillance operations; to provide real-time surveillance of remote areas or of sites where suspicious activity has been reported; and to quickly escalate response to routine traffic stops or domestic disputes that have turned problematic, thus compromising officer and/or public safety, among other applications.
"By putting this technology into the hands of those it was designed to serve and allowing them to deploy it in ways they believe can best benefit their respective communities, ICOP gained invaluable knowledge that has allowed us to maximize our product positioning ... knowledge we are now putting to work to achieve rapid market penetration for this innovative technology," added Owen.
Over the past 12 months, ICOP has worked closely with its strategic marketing partners, Sprint Nextel and Strix Systems, to educate the public and private sectors on ICOP LIVE's value proposition to communities nationwide. ICOP will begin processing orders for ICOP LIVE effective immediately with shipments of related hardware and software expected to commence in June 2008.
