Latest Release Offers Increased Performance, Reliability and Security
PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 11 /- TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ:TIBX) today announced a major upgrade to TIBCO BusinessWorks(TM). This new version addresses the increasing complexity of orchestration in a standards-based format for companies that want to take their service-oriented architecture (SOA) to the next level. TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.4 implements the OASIS Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL) 1.1 specification with the industry's first support for BPEL 2.0 schemas.
The increasing adoption of SOA by enterprises is creating a complex network of discrete services. As companies break down their monolithic applications and create new services, their end goal is to compose and reuse those services as processes or new applications. TIBCO BusinessWorks with support for BPEL will further help companies simplify the re-use of existing IT assets through a more manageable, adaptive and cost-effective infrastructure. In addition, customers will be able to quickly realize the benefits of integrated applications and reusable services by more rapidly assembling composite applications and complex orchestrated services in ways that best meets their needs.

-- Support for next generation 64-bit platforms including Linux 64 bit, Solaris X86, 64-bit AIX, 64-bit HP-UX, 64-bit Solaris 9 and 64-bit Solaris 10.
Other enhancements include support for Microsoft SQL 2005 and Oracle 10g R2 relational database management systems, as well as Tomcat 5.5, Jakarta 3.0.1, the latest production quality releases from the Apache Software Foundation. In addition, this latest software release is fully backwards compatible with previous versions of TIBCO BusinessWorks. Projects built using select previous versions can be executed without modification in TIBCO BusinessWorks version 5.4.
TIBCO BusinessWorks version 5.4 is now generally available with pricing starting at $75,000. All new product features are available free of charge to existing TIBCO BusinessWorks customers with current maintenance contracts.
