ATERAS Announces the Expansion of DB-Shuttle(TM) Automation Tool Suite to Include Enterprise Application Viewer

DALLAS, Oct. 15 / / -- ATERAS, a leading provider of fully automated legacy migration and modernization solutions, today unveiled a new product Enterprise Application Viewer (eav). The Enterprise Application Viewer uses the power of the DB-Shuttle(TM) engines to provide business teams with the ability to easily achieve Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for documentation on existing applications. eav can create detailed up-to-date documentation, automatically retrieve new versions of the source code as changes are made across your enterprise, and re-create new up-to-date documentation instantly. With eav, Business Rules are easily identified, isolated and extracted for use in legacy modernization, SOA enablement, and other re-design and re-engineering projects. ATERAS is showcasing the new product at the IBM Information on Demand Show, being held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, October 14-17, ATERAS booth # S11.

In many organizations, team knowledge about specific applications is reduced to near zero when critical team members leave the company or retire. With the Enterprise Application Viewer, business and technical team members at all knowledge levels can view, access and understand even the most complex applications. Team members have hands-on access to business rules, application flows, and program content using a powerful graphical user interface. New team members can quickly gain a detailed understanding of any application and its flow. Significant productivity increases are possible when eav is used as an application developer workbench for day-to-day research, analysis and maintenance of legacy applications. Problem resolution and enhancement design are greatly simplified when the developer can drill into program code, cross reference fields, view program interfaces, and follow program logic instantly using an interactive diagram.

DB-Shuttle's powerful engines provide programmers and system analysts a quick and efficient way to navigate across the enterprise. The Object Browser provides a window into a complete list of the application objects that comprise the enterprise. The analyst has full capability to search within and across all source objects, and can set bookmarks and make notes for any source object. Within any source object, the analyst can instantly review details about any variable reference on any line of code, can jump between program labels within the program, and can instantly refresh eav's documentation based upon the current mainframe source.

The Enterprise Application Viewer product is an important component of the automated solutions strategy for legacy migration and modernization that DB-Shuttle provides, which includes: comprehensive IT assessments, database and data migrations and application migrations. Earlier this year ATERAS announced Enterprise Field Change Manager which identifies all fields and every line of code affected by any field definition change and then makes the required program changes. The flexible ATERAS automated product line powered by DB-Shuttle simplifies the IT solutions for all enterprise.

"Enterprise Application Viewer widens our product offering and customer base. It is an important addition to our DB-Shuttle automation technology suite of products. With eav, IT enterprises increase developer productivity while solving the business and technical problems of up-to-date documentation and SOX compliancy," states Scott Miller, CEO President ATERAS.
