Ingenuity Systems Launches New Metabolomics Solution within IPA

IPA-Metabolomics(TM) Enables Researchers to Identify Pathways and Biological Processes Most Relevant to Metabolomic Data

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 9 -- Ingenuity Systems, the leading provider of information solutions to help life science researchers generate insights from biological and chemical information, today introduced IPA-Metabolomics(TM), a complete solution within Ingenuity Pathways Analysis to help researchers understand metabolomics data in the context of dynamic signaling and metabolic pathways.

"With metabolomics research, we have robust approaches for generating data, but it has been challenging to extrapolate biological meaning from that data," stated Larry Denner, Ph.D., Director, McCoy Diabetes Mass Spectrometry Laboratory and Professor of Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch. "IPA-Metabolomics provides new analytical tools to understand complex physiological processes. By enabling the integration of diverse metabolomics and proteomic data, we can now identify emergent principles for generating novel testable hypotheses in our continuing refinement of predictive models of normal and pathological processes."

"I completely concur with Dr. Denner," says Bruce Luxon, Ph.D., Professor and Director of UTMB's Bioinformatics Program and the Metabolomics Laboratory. "We view the addition of the IPA-Metabolomics module as a major step forward in our quest to bring together data from genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics into a cohesive, coherent picture of the biological context that is embedded in our 'omics' data. We are very enthusiastic about this enhancement to the IPA platform."

Ingenuity Pathways Analysis is a software application that enables researchers to model, analyze, and understand the complex biological and chemical systems at the core of life science research. IPA is deployed in all major pharmaceutical companies and in hundreds of biotechnology companies and academic institutions globally. It supports analysis of data from all experimental platforms, and is used at all stages of the drug discovery and development process, including target identification and validation, identification of biomarkers, predictive toxicology, and pharmacogenomics.
