Centrify Announces DirectControl 2.1; Extends Platform Support and Integration with Popular Network Connectivity Tools

Adds More SUSE, AIX and Solaris Versions as Well as Solaris 64-bit Support; Delivers Packaged OpenSSH Integration and New Customer Resource Center

LinuxWorld Expo-UK, LONDON and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 4/ -- Centrify Corporation, a leading provider of solutions that securely integrate non-Microsoft platforms with Microsoft(R) Active Directory management services, today announced Centrify DirectControl(TM) suite 2.1. This latest release of DirectControl offers additional platform support and coincides with the launch of the Centrify Resource Center -- a freely accessible web portal that provides access to popular third-party network utilities that seamlessly integrate with DirectControl.

The Centrify DirectControl suite consists of the DirectControl agent, which enables UNIX, Linux and Mac computers to join a Microsoft Active Directory domain and provides authentication, access and policy services for these systems and their applications. DirectControl also includes a powerful Windows-based Administrator Console, which enables role-based access control for managed systems, allows managers to run reports to help streamline regulatory compliance, and provides features to manage secure zones of heterogeneous systems.

The Centrify Resource Center includes downloadable, precompiled versions of widely used Open Source tools. These tools work seamlessly with DirectControl and therefore leverage the secure identity and access services of Active Directory.

"As we broaden the capabilities and platform support for our products, we are also including precompiled versions of OpenSSH and other tools to further deliver on our vision of allowing customers to have a secure, connected computing environment composed of heterogeneous systems and applications," said David McNeely, director of product management for Centrify. "Combining expanded platform and product support with the Centrify Resource Center helps ensure that our customers will be able to further leverage their investment in Active Directory and DirectControl and help secure connectivity and access across their disparate systems."

Centrify DirectControl 2.1 includes several new technology and solution offerings for customers.

o Centrify has added support for more platforms: IBM AIX 4.3.3 and 5.1; Novell SUSE Linux v 9.0, 9.2 and 9.3; and Sun Solaris 2.6 and 7, and 64-bit support for Solaris 8, 9, and 10.
o Centrify will deliver MIT Kerberized versions of standard connectivity utilities such as ftp, telnet and rlogin. Kerberos has become a standard across many platforms and organizations for secure, single sign-on enabled applications. Centrify will provide popular Open Source tools: a precompiled version of OpenSSH and a version of PuTTY modified to use Active Directory to authenticate users. These applications make it easy for organizations to take advantage of DirectControl services to securely connect to systems using the SSH protocol for single sign-on terminal and file transfer sessions
o The Centrify Resource Center is a publicly accessible web portal that enables Centrify's customers to download the Open Source tools mentioned above. The site also includes complete product documentation and tech notes that provide more detail on DirectControl's support for various application platforms and products. The Centrify Resource Center is at www.centrify.com/resources.
