Bentley Announces Release of AutoPLANT Physical Plant Design 3.0

Exton, PA – June 24, 2003 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, today announced the release of AutoPLANT® Physical Plant Design 3.0 (formerly AutoPLANT Plant Design Workgroup), its AutoCAD®-based solution for the physical design of industrial and process plants.

The new release now integrates the work of three teams – the functional design team, the physical design team, and the construction team – through a major innovation and the powerful synergies created by joining the Rebis and Bentley product lines.

The innovation is a 2D-to-3D consistency checker that verifies the equivalence of functional and physical process design. With the checker, users can ensure that the physical design matches the intent of the functional design and quickly correct any divergence.

The new release’s compatibility with existing Bentley technology opens the door to a host of new capabilities and benefits. Bentley® Enterprise Navigator®, for example, now allows AutoPLANT users to simulate construction, view interactive animations of the construction process, and perform interference checking. As a result, plant construction can be planned and sequenced far more effectively.

The synergy of the two product lines extends to AutoPLANT access with Bentley collaboration servers. Bentley® ProjectWise® now allows AutoPLANT user organizations to create a managed environment of their plant IT – including all plant lifecycle applications and related information. In a managed environment for plants, tools are connected; information is confidently shared, synchronized, and secured; and people in all stages of the lifecycle are empowered to make the most-informed and best decisions.

AutoPLANT Physical Plant Design 3.0 is available immediately. An AutoPLANT release for AutoCAD 2004 will be available at the end of Q3 2003. A Webcast demonstrating AutoPLANT on AutoCAD 2004 will take place Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. EDT. To register, log on to www.bentley.com/plant.
