WSI Corporation Announces Latest WSI InFlight® Release



Leader in cockpit weather enhances electronic flight bag application

ANDOVER, Mass., July 15 /-- WSI Corporation (http://www.wsi.com/) today announced the release of WSI InFlight(R) Version 4.1, the latest version of WSI InFlight software designed to enhance and simplify the user experience in the cockpit while offering even more weather data. All functionality is now available within a single window featuring standard controls for zooming and panning as well as a more elegant handling of looping functionality. Controls for displaying weather information types have been simplified and time and altitude 'sliders' are now available allowing users to easily select past, present and forecasted conditions at various altitudes. "With the release of 4.1 we have dramatically improved the user experience over our previous versions," stated Paul Devlin, Product Manager of Business Aviation. "These improvements are a direct result of customer input."

Additionally, more WSI weather data is now available for display in WSI InFlight 4.1. Cloud tops infrared satellite imagery is now available at eight altitudes showing cloud cover at and above the selected altitude as well as surface analyses depicting major synoptic weather features. Also new to the WSI InFlight software is an icing product that depicts areas of probable icing and its severity at fifteen altitudes up to FL240 and highlights areas of supercooled large droplet (SLD) icing. "No other service offers this critical operational information. WSI will continue to identify and deliver informational products that will increase weather situational awareness," continued Devlin.

WSI InFlight 4.1 software, for use with EFBs and Windows XP computers, can be activated for a one time fee of $595. In order to take full advantage of all of the features of WSI InFlight 4.1, WSI is now offering a Premium level weather data package. The WSI Premium package contains all of the weather information available on the WSI InFlight broadcast including WSI PIREPs and Icing for one low fee. Available for $849 annually, WSI Premium is only $70.75 per month. Current WSI InFlight customers who are in the process of transitioning to the new AV-300 series systems and have an active subscription are eligible for special pricing.
