Computershare Releases Version 6.4 of the World Records(R) Application
SHELTON, Conn., Feb. 13 - Computershare Limited , a leading financial services provider for the global securities industry, has announced the release of version 6.4 (v6.4) of the World Records(R) application, an industry-leading software for subsidiary governance. One of the software's significant enhancements includes a compliance calendar that alerts users to due dates for critical events such as annual filings, board and committee meetings, quarterly reports, and contract renewals. The latest release also features links to sub-tasks showing event details and the responsible party for each.
"With the increasing number of important event and deadline requirements in support of good corporate governance, Computershare is making sure clients have all the tools necessary to be proactive. The enhanced calendar functionality is part of this effort," said Mark Selinger, Managing Director of Computershare's World Records Solutions.
Other advancements related to the calendar allow system administrators to clone events, define the look of the calendar, and determine who receives notifications with event details. It can also help organize responsibilities by producing a list of actions for each person or group with a task on the compliance calendar.
With the new World Records home page, Computershare has introduced a more user-friendly launch pad. Newly added and visited companies, documents, and people can be accessed with just a few clicks. Along with providing a shortcut to the application's modules, the enhanced home page includes event notifications and a summary of an organization's active company, person, and document records.
The newest version of World Records enhances a company administrator's ability to dynamically create complex, multi-ownership organizational charts from the data in World Records. And, there is now functionality to batch resign or re-elect committee members with multiple roles throughout an organization - an enormous timesaver.
For companies with hundreds or even thousands of documents - from bylaws and articles of incorporation to minute books and contracts - the document management area of the application has many new features including the ability to search documents by effective date, document owner, category, and subcategory. Administrators can secure documents by user group and category and they can add them through the company, person, jurisdiction, and outsider areas of the application.
World Records software is used by staff in corporate secretary and general counsel offices in hundreds of companies worldwide to efficiently manage corporate entity records and facilitate internal controls for subsidiary governance. In the past year, the group has added more than 25 new clients, including SunGard Data Systems, AutoNation, McKesson, Centex Corporation, and Cameron.
In addition to the most recent updates in v6.4, Computershare has added new functionality over the past year such as an executive dashboard that provides officers and directors the details of the boards on which they sit, their signatory rights, and a board preparation module that serves as an electronic portal for board and committee meetings in advance of the event, including distribution of documents and action items.
