mValent Debuts Automated Application Configuration Management Software Optimized for BEA WebLogic Server at BEA World 2006

-Software Designed to Slash Time and Cost of Delivering Applications Built on BEA WebLogic Server; Enables Automated IT Audits for Compliance-

BURLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 19 -- mValent, Inc. (http://www.mvalent.com/), a leading provider of automated IT configuration management solutions for managing application infrastructure, today unveiled mValent Integrity(TM) for BEA WebLogic Server(R), an optimized release of its mValent Integrity v4 WebLogic Platform-validated software that doubles the productivity of IT infrastructure professionals who build, troubleshoot and support composite business applications centered on WebLogic Server. mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic Server includes new automation modules that can radically reduce the time required to create, change, and provision the tens of thousands of configuration properties that form the foundation of WebLogic-based application infrastructure. The software is being demonstrated at mValent's booth #510 at BEA World in San Francisco, September 19-20, 2006.

With 60-80% of an IT infrastructure team's time spent maintaining existing applications via manual methods, IT managers chartered with accelerating the delivery of new applications and driving down the associated costs need to change the status quo. Automating labor-intensive processes for building and delivering application infrastructure enables IT managers to meet growing business demands for services that continue to outpace IT headcount.

"As a BEA Select Partner, mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic Server is designed to provide our customers a great way to fast-track their migration to WebLogic 9.0," said Peter Cooper Ellis, Executive Vice President of Engineering, BEA Systems, Inc. "This can make it even easier for our customers to maximize the value they receive from BEA WebLogic Server."

"mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic Server gives customers an effective, unified tool for building and managing configurations in the multi-vendor application infrastructure stack that accompany a WebLogic Server. By reducing the complexity of managing configuration and change, mValent enables customers to deploy new WebLogic applications and complete upgrades in half the time," said Joe Forgione President and CEO of mValent.

Key features of mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic include:
o Automation module for building and deploying configurations of new WebLogic Servers -- Replaces manual processes and scripts used to set, tune and control the thousands of configuration parameters for each WebLogic Server instance with 'push-button' automation that reduces the effort required to build and deploy new WebLogic Servers from man-days to minutes. This template-driven approach can be extended to include all elements of the application infrastructure-Web servers, databases and middleware.
o Deep-Dive Compare Capability -- Each instance of application infrastructure includes literally tens of thousands of configuration properties and when problems in stability or performance crop up, IT managers first ask, "What changed?" mValent Integrity's deep-dive Compare feature enables IT pros to compare many different version of WebLogic Servers and immediately spot potentially troublesome differences at the individual configuration property level. This key trouble-shooting capability routinely saves multiple man-days of effort and cuts application downtime dramatically.
o Automatic Versioning and Roll-back -- mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic Server automatically creates 'snapshots' of the entire application infrastructure environment as each change occurs. This provides both invaluable troubleshooting insight and enables customers to rapidly recover from unanticipated problems by rolling back to a previous known good version of a WebLogic Server configuration or an entire application environment.
o Infrastructure Change Dashboard -- mValent Integrity for BEA WebLogic Server provides a comprehensive Infrastructure Change Dashboard which delivers in-depth information "at-a-glance" on changes to the application infrastructure supporting mission-critical business applications. Users can drill-down into configuration changes and track, sort, analyze and report on those changes, enabling them to quickly expose infrastructure elements with abnormally high change volumes which can contribute to application downtime or generate business service delivery issues. In addition, they can establish BEA WebLogic configuration standards, measure and report on compliance by comparing actual configuration settings to established rules and quickly remediate non-compliant configurations.
