Microsoft ISV, Fullscope, Releases Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries Version 3.0 at Convergence
- Dallas, TX - More than 6,500 Microsoft Business Solutions employees, customers, partners, and press are expected to attend Microsoft Business Solutions' largest international gathering of the year in Dallas, Texas, from March 25-28. At this event, Fullscope, a Gold Certified Microsoft Partner and an event sponsor, has released the newest version of their ISV solution: Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries version 3.0.
Fullscope, expert supply chain consultants to the high tech and semiconductor industries, has issued the third release of Dynamics AX for High Tech Industries. Fullscope infuses their high tech domain expertise directly into Dynamics AX as an ISV add-on to extend the functionality of Dynamics AX to meet high tech companies' unique business requirements and to address the complexities of high tech supply chains with a packaged solution.
This ISV solution reinforces Microsoft's commitment to provide a compelling alternative to traditional Tier 1 ERP applications such as SAP and Oracle, by taking an industry specific functionality approach. It can generate a much more rapid ROI by providing a packaged solution to meet the dynamic demands of high tech companies in a global market with special attention to managing relationships between vendors, subcontractors and distributors.

New Features in Release 3.0
Additional functionality addresses areas of production control, lot tracking, supply chain interface, planning, purchasing, sales order scheduling, and industry relevant reporting.
Production Controls - Simple screens have been added for the Start Lot, Split Lot, Assembly Lot, and Move Lot functions that allow for a much faster manual entry option and allow for default values to automatically populate. Operation based pay points can be set on BOM routings to trigger payments due to subcontractors and costing on all items going IN to an operation or good items coming OUT of an operation.
Lot Tracking - Version 3.0 features enhanced functionality around Assembly lots, where a single Start Lot operation can pull components from various lots simultaneous and track the forward and backward lot lineage of each unique component lot combination.
Supply Chain Interface - Three additional packaged supply chain transaction sets include: sending purchase order schedules to suppliers, updating purchase order line delivery data, and location to location inventory moves. In Version 3.0 parameters have also been included in these transactions to apply vendor operations, inter-company rules, and to display errors.
Purchasing - Blanket PO's can be set up by dollar value or by total quantity. Automatic approvals for PO releases off of a blanket order have been added. The functionality to include multiple service items on a single PO was added, generating multiple lines on the PO, which simplifies the PO process by reducing the number of PO's released and allows each line to be received against independently.
Sales - One-click credit checking and sales order holds have been added in this release. Support for selling items that contain royalty specific coding has also been included.
Reporting - Vendor performance OLAP cube to measure vendor performance according to delivery dates and quantities against commit dates. Yield analysis OLAP cube to measure yield by vendor, operation, item, or lot. Report that includes bookings, billings, and backlog for customer sales orders.
