Hillstone Software Releases Next Version of HS X.25 / XOT Stack for X.25 over IP Applications.

Hillstone Software releases next major version of HS X.25 (+RFC1613 XOT) - C source library for X.25 over IP applications.

Hillstone Software has announced the release of version 1.3 of "HS X.25 (+RFC1613 XOT)" - a source code library written in C language which implements ITU-T X.25 protocol and Cisco X.25 over TCP protocol RFC1613 (XOT).

The library allows software engineers and system integrators to reduce the time to market of the projects related to the conversion of legacy X.25 networks into new generation TCP/IP infrastructure.

HS X.25 library may be used in X.25 endpoint applications on Windows PC platforms connecting directly to XOT enabled devices, such as Cisco routers.

Most major features of the X.25 protocol are supported: DTE and DCE operation, up to 4095 incoming and / or outgoing connections, user facilities, call user data, expedited data, flow control, configurable packet and window sizes, Q, D and M bit procedures, connections statistics and packet trace.

Additional featues of the new version 1.3 include:

- SVC / XOT outbound routing table to allow making X.25 calls over XOT (RFC1613) to multiple different IP hosts

- Improved overall stack reliability and reduced CPU utilization for large number of connections

- Improved operation in Proprietary XOT mode, support for running up to 10 independent X.25 links either TCP servers or clients in any combinations

- X.25 Link level statistics
