CAS DataLoggers Announces New Software Development Kit for VersaLog

SiteView SDK Offers PC-based Data Acquisition at a Low Price

CHESTERLAND OH— CAS DataLoggers has just announced a low-cost PC-based data acquisition solution for use with our Accsense VersaLog series data loggers—the new SiteView Software Development Kit. This new software lets users develop their own custom monitoring and alarm applications for communication with VersaLog products. After a quick install, SDK performs device configuration, data downloading, plotting and analyzing. This new solution is ideal for engineers, scientists, OEMs, system integrators, and anyone interested in developing application programs that can interact with .Net Assembly in order to perform DAQ operations with VersaLog data loggers.

Using SiteView software, users have everything they need to interact with VersaLog series data loggers. A user manual is included for those who want to write their own programs so it’s easy for users to get started writing their own programs for data acquisition and data plotting. For example, users can setup the datalogger to monitor oven temperature and report when a part hits the proper temperature to start their heat treatment process. Communicating with the data loggers using their own custom application developed with the SDK, users can view the part’s temperature in real time. The data logger stores all the data which can later be transferred to a PC for analysis and report generation using SiteView.

Accsense VersaLog’s new Software Development Kit gives users the flexibility to interface with VersaLog units from Visual C or Visual Basic programming environments. The new kit works with Windows XP, Vista, and Win7 and is developed in the .NET development environment. Properties include: view start/finish times of downloaded data, total readings, available memory as a % downloaded, set sampling intervals, and more. Using this extended functionality, users develop their own custom data logging programs.

Accsense VersaLog dataloggers are a powerful low-cost solution for data recording applications that also require a local alarm notification. These stand alone recorders commonly feature 7-8 channels with models to log temperature, humidity, current or voltage. Two programmable alarm outputs can be configured with low or high limits to activate a relay, switch on a light/audible alarm or signal a PLC or other device. All VersaLog data loggers have a built in USB port for connection to a PC for configuration and downloading data plus an auxiliary serial port and 4-Megabytes of memory storing up to 2 million measurements. An optional USB device server allows multiple VersaLog loggers to be connected to a single Ethernet port allowing remote, network access.

The SiteView software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8 and can be used to configure the data loggers, retrieve stored data, graph the measurements and save or export the data. It also offers the ability to view real-time data from any connected loggers, a powerful calibration tool to convert the raw sensor output to physical parameters with an alarm management tool to allow local or email notification of an alarm condition in a connected logger.
