AltiGen Communications Announces MAX Communications Server 6.0

AltiGen opens new markets with enhanced scalability and native Microsoft Exchange 2007 integration

HOUSTON, July 8 -- AltiGenŽ Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATGN), a leading provider of VoIP business telephone systems and unified communications solutions for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), including companies with multiple distributed locations, announces the new software based MAX Communications Server 6.0 VoIP softswitch with native Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging integration at the 2008 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston, Texas.

The MAX Communications Server (MAXCS) 6.0 is AltiGen's next generation full-featured VoIP phone system and unified communications solution designed for businesses with support for up to 5,000 users. To increase scalability, the new VoIP switching architecture of MAXCS 6.0 utilizes standard IntelŽ based servers to handle all VoIP voice processing.

MAX Communications Server 6.0 key features and benefits include the following:

o Native Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 integration for a complete unified messaging solution

o New software based distributed softswitch architecture with support for 1,000 users on a single server

o New .NET based desktop telephony client with enhanced call control features

o Integration with Microsoft Office Communicator to deliver rich presence management

o Expanded meet-me conference bridge with scheduling application supporting 120 participants

"By migrating to a software based softswitch architecture, we are able to deploy MAXCS 6.0 on any AltiGen certified IntelŽ based server," said Jimmin Yao, vice president of product management. "In larger enterprise organizations, the new software based softswitch architecture will give IT departments the flexibility to deploy MAXCS on their company's specified standard server platform."

This release allows AltiGen's MAXCS 6.0 to operate as the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 IP PBX plug-in with native integration. This gives customers the flexibility to use Exchange 2007 as their unified messaging server to gain advance capabilities beyond standard voicemail features, such as speech recognition/control and text-to-speech playback of user emails and calendar appointments through the phone system. Native integration also gives IT managers a single point of management for all company communications for archival and regulatory compliance requirements.

"With native Microsoft Exchange 2007 integration, our customers can now leverage advance unified messaging features such as voicemail delivery to their Outlook inbox and Text-to-Speech access to their Exchange account's email, calendar, contacts, and notes," said Jeff Brodie, President of AltiGen Platinum and Microsoft Certified Gold Partner CodeFusion. "This integration will greatly increase the productivity of AltiGen users by giving them a single location to manage the various messaging media critical to conducting their day-to-day business."

MAXCS 6.0 also includes support for AltiGen's new desktop client MAX Communicator. MAX Communicator replaces AltiGen's current AltiView client with a completely redesigned interface that increases employee productively with new streamlined access to important features such as extension and Office Communicator presence, visual voicemail, call control, conferencing, company directory information. Additionally, the MAX Communicator includes a fully featured VoIP softphone for remote users.

"MAX Communications Server 6.0 opens new markets for AltiGen," said AltiGen President Jeremiah Fleming. "With the increased scalability available from a software based softswitch, AltiGen is well positioned to move upstream in the market and sell into larger opportunities."

Availability

General availability of the new MAX Communications Server is expected in the calendar third quarter of 2008.
