August 6, 2010 - Intended for use in hard rock mining applications, MDX pump operates at low specific speed to provide stable operations by harnessing variable flow conditions in mill circuits. Size of BEP sweet spot further ensures stable sump levels over flow variations, while also contributing to efficiency and extended equipment wear life. Slurry diverter technology is standard, and optional application of metal, rubber, or ceramic materials expands service alternatives for optimal wear life.

New Slurry Pump for Severe Mill Duty Applications

Every mill circuit operator knows that maximum plant efficiency depends upon matching equipment to scheduled operating cycles. GIW continues to offer rock-solid solutions with the introduction of the new MDX slurry pump line for hard rock mining.

The MDX slurry pump, the heart of the mill circuit, tackles the most extreme duty conditions. The low specific speed of the MDX slurry pump provides stable operations by harnessessing the variable flow conditions confronted in modern mill circuits. Stable flow in combination with an optimum head/quantity and efficiency curve ensures efficient mill operation.

In addition, a large BEP sweet spot ensures stable sump levels over large flow variations, high efficiency operations, and longer equipment wear life. Longer wear life extends operating cycle times to match scheduled mill outages. Fewer unscheduled outages and more up time translates into greater production and profits.

All MDX slurry pumps are outfitted with GIW's patent pending slurry diverter technology. The diverter dramatically increases suction liner life by reducing particle recirculation between the impeller and the suction liners. The MDX slurry pump matches this patented diverter with our adjustable suction liner design to further extend suction liner wear life and meet predetermined maintenance intervals.

The optional application of metal, rubber, or ceramic materials further expands the service alternatives for optimal wear life configurations.

Nicknamed the "Big Iron" by the GIW selling team, the successful completion of two years of field testing have generated increasing excitement in hard rock mining and has dominated the competition in all side-by-side trials.

Call your GIW sales representative today to learn more about how the GIW MDX slurry pump can improve efficiency and increase profits in your mill circuit operations.
