Thermo Fisher Scientific Announces 1000 L Single-Use Bioreactor

LOGAN, Utah, June 29, 2007 - Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, has developed a 1000 liter Single-Use Bioreactor (S.U.B.) for animal cell culture, a major advance in disposable bioprocessing.
Compatible with traditional stainless steel systems, the HyClone S.U.B. provides all the advantages of single-use bioprocessing without the need to purchase a complete new bioreactor system. It replaces the stainless steel bioreactor vessel in existing bioreactor systems, making it a flexible, rapid and economic option to update or increase bioreactor capacity.
The S.U.B. consists of a reusable stainless steel outer support container and S.U.B. BioProcess Container(TM) (BPC®) that integrate with a customer's existing bioreactor control system.
With the addition of the 1000 liter size, the unit is now available in 50, 250 and 1000 liter maximum working volumes. Thermo Fisher Scientific is also working with a number of bioreactor control system companies to facilitate and simplify integration with the S.U.B.
