March 18, 2010 - Developed for use on 230 Vac lines or 340 Vdc lines, QRS061K001 offers average current rating of 420 A and can be used for adding increased free-wheeling diode capability across Powerex IGBTs. Isolation voltage is rated at 3 kV RMS, and thermal management system incorporates AIN substrate with copper base. In addition to isolated mounting, features include recovery time TRR of 150 ns max. Applications include switching power supplies, inverters, choppers, and high-frequency rectifiers.

Powerex Extends 600V Fast Diode Family to Include 1000A Single Free Wheel Module


Powerex is pleased to announce the availability of a 600V/1000A single fast diode module designated as QRS061K001. This higher current fast diode was developed for use on 230 Volt AC lines or 340 Volt DC lines and has an average current rating of 420 amperes.

The new device can be used for adding increased free-wheeling diode capability across our standard IGBT product offering. It also has a high isolation voltage of 3KV RMS and an optimized thermal management system incorporating an AIN substrate with a copper base.

Product Ratings and Characteristics -
The single QRS061K001, rated at 600V, 1000A FWD features:
  • Fast recovery time trr = 150 ns Max.
  • Isolated mounting
  • AIN Substrate providing low thermal impedance
  • 3000V isolating voltage

    Applications -
    QRS061K001 has been designed for use in switching power supplies, inverters, choppers, welding power supplies, free wheeling diode, and high frequency rectifiers.
