Silicone Rubber Gaskets in Roll Form

Silicone Rubber Gaskets in Roll Form Philadelphia, Pa. - Stockwell Rubber Company announces the availability of Silicone Foam and Closed Cell Silicone Sponge Rubber Gasketing in slit-to-width rolls with pressure sensitive adhesive backing. Silicone foam products are available with film supported acrylic adhesive and unsupported acrylic transfer adhesive. Supported adhesives provide better dimensional stability during assembly, whereas transfer adhesives allow for the formation of continuous gaskets with tight bend radii. Soft and medium grades come in thicknesses of .062" through .375". Standard roll lengths range from 30 to 10 linear ft. depending on the thickness. Silicone foams are produced from liquid silicone rubber technology, and many formulations are flame retardant meeting UL94V0 and UL94HF-1. The flame retardant properties are often required for gaskets in telecommunications equipment, medical diagnostic equipment and high voltage power and controls. Closed cell silicone sponge is available in medium grade from .032" thick through .188" thick with unsupported acrylic transfer adhesive. Standard roll lengths range from 30 to 15 linear ft. depending on the thickness. Closed cell silicone sponges are produced using traditional gum based silicone compounds with expanding agents. The cured sponge tends to be more durable than silicone foam, and generally seals better. However, the gum based compounds do not have the UL flame ratings often required by the telecommunications equipment industry. Silicone foam and closed cell silicone sponge have excellent compression set resistance, making these products an ideal choice for applications requiring long term use in broad temperature ranges where exposure to UV and moisture are likely.

Stockwell Rubber Co. applies over ten acrylic and silicone based pressure sensitive adhesives to its silicone rubber product line. The company maintains a full inventory to support fast turn prototyping requirements - often utilizing its water jet cutting stations to produce cut-to-size gaskets from customer supplied Autocad dxf and dwg files. For gasket and cushioning pads in production quantity, the company has full die cut capability.
