New SP3002-04UTG Silicon Protection Array Offers Enhanced ESD Protection in a Small Form Factor Package

Latest addition to the existing SP3002 Series (SPATM) is offered in a space efficient, low profile 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.5 mm µDFN-6 package.

CHICAGO, Illinois, September 14, 2009 - Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS), today announced a package expansion of the SP3002 Series, a four channel diode array with an integrated zener diode.

The µDFN-6 and SOT23-6 package options will be added to the existing SP3002 Series which previously consisted of only the SC70-6. All options provide enhanced ESD protection per IEC61000-4-2 for electronic devices with a very low input capacitance of 0.85pF.

The SP3002-04UTG is particularly suitable for high speed port protection in mobile devices or in any application where board space comes at a premium. The SP3002-04UTG offers a 43% space savings over the SC70-6 and a 68% savings over the SOT23-6.

The new SP3002-04UTG is RoHS compliant and complies with the following standards:

  • ESD, IEC61000-4-2, ±12kV (contact), ±15kV (air)

  • EFT, IEC61000-4-5, 40A (5/50ns)

  • Lightning, IEC61000-4-5, 4.5A (8/20µs)

The SP3002 Series has a 6V reverse standoff voltage with extremely low leakage of <1µA. Furthermore, its low capacitance of 0.85pF combined with a low dynamic resistance of 1.1 W makes it an ideal choice to protect sensitive chipsets.
