June 6, 2002 - Model KFS100S sharpens carbide or high-speed steel hobs to AGMA AAA accuracy. It handles bore and shank-type tools, and has full enclosure for wet grinding, swiveling direct-drive high-speed 12,000 rpm grinding spindle, linear slides with preloaded guideways, integrated paper filtration system, and precision ballscrews. Four-axis GE Fanuc CNC control is programmed in conversational style. Machine sharpens gear hobs up to 4.00 in. dia and 8.00 in. long.

Koepfer Displays New Hob Sharpening Machine with Spiral Gash Capability
The new KFS100S CNC hob sharpening machine offers the ability to sharpen both straight and spiral gash gear hobs of carbide or high speed steel up to AGMA "AAA" accuracy. Both bore and shank type tools can be accommodated.
The Model KFS100S sharpening machine was designed with a full enclosure for wet grinding, a swiveling direct-drive high-speed 12,000-RPM grinding spindle, linear slides with preloaded guideways, and precision ballscrews.
Users will find this machine easy to use with its four-axis GE Fanuc CNC control that is programmed in a conversational style that maximizes accuracy and repeatability and includes storage for multiple cutters.
Operating personnel will appreciate the ergonomic considerations and accessibility of the machine spindles for quick setup. Plant engineers will notice the one piece compact machine design (including an integrated paper filtration system) that offers easy access to all machine systems.
