New fiber ends add control over output beam shape and fiber efficiency

Stirling, N.J. – New shaped tip fibers and fiber assemblies from Fiberguide Industries provide optimum control over laser light during medical procedures. The conical, ball, radiused, chiseled and angular fiber ends are ideal for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), optical-coherence tomography-guided (OCT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) laser treatments.

The new shaped tip fibers are created using Fiberguide’s proprietary design software and fiber processing techniques. The tips allow customers to shape the outbeam beam and/or increase the efficiency of light collection. Customized designs are also available.
