December 22, 2004 - SKF® inch series shafting and accessories offer users capability to design linear guidance systems for various applications. Shaft materials include hardened and ground carbon steel as well as chrome-plated and stainless steel. Standard shaft diameters range from ¼-2 in. Accessories include inch shaft support rails and shaft end supports, and options include custom hole drilling and shaft lengths as well as pre-drilled and tapped shafts.

SKF® 'Inch' Shafting and Accessories Ideal for Reliable Linear Guidance Systems


New SKF® "inch series" shafting and accessories offer users the capability to design cost-effective and reliable linear guidance systems. They provide practical alternatives to metric and inch products for a wide range of industry applications, including packaging machinery, robotics, factory automation, and vending equipment, among others.

Accessories include inch shaft support rails and shaft end supports promoting complete solutions for the most demanding linear motion guidance system requirements.

SKF shafting for linear-bearing support is manufactured in a variety of types and sizes to suit particular applications. Shaft materials include precision hardened and ground carbon steel, as well as chrome-plated and stainless steel to promote corrosion resistance. Standard shaft diameters range from 1/4 in. (3mm) through 2 in. (80mm).

SKF capabilities include custom hole drilling and shaft lengths, pre-drilled and tapped shafts, precision machining of shafts to meet user specifications, and unique configurations. Complete shaft-rail assemblies are also available.
