Products, with shank and bore/shank concentricity, are available with pin and clamp style hubs. Varieties include inch and metric males to inch and metric females. Adapters eliminate need for custom shafting by converting shafts from metric size to inch size or vice-versa. Gears can be mounted directly onto shaft adapters, eliminating need to have custom journal on shaft or custom bore on gear. Products are offered with custom lengths, bores, hubs, and ODs.

WM Berg Introduces Metric to Inch And Inch to Metric Shaft Adapters
These shaft adapters are an excellent method to inexpensively convert your metric shaft to a standard inch sized shaft. They are high precision, with tight tolerances on our bores, shank and bore/shank concentricity, and come in both pin hub and clamp style hubs. Our comprehensive varieties include inch and metric males to inch and metric females, in both hub styles. As a complementary product to our precision couplings and precision and ultra-precision shafting, they provide a complete solution to many power transmission problems.

Eliminate the need for special couplings
These components solve a common problem that is trying to couple shafts of two different sizing conventions. It is very uncommon to find as standard product, couplings that have one bore that is inch, and the other that is metric. Using our new product, the need for repeated purchases of special couplings can be eliminated with the one time purchase of one of our shaft adapters. Standard, more inexpensive couplings can then be purchased from this point forward.

Many machines run metric gearing with metric bores. Many times in design, it is necessary to run metric gears on inch-machined shafts, or inch gears with metric shafts. Our new shaft adapters eliminate the need for custom shafting by converting the shaft from a metric size to an inch size, or from an inch size to a metric size. Because of our high precision, gears can be mounted directly onto our shaft adapters eliminating the need to have a custom journal on the shaft or having a custom bore on the gear.
