DYNETIC SYSTEMS has IP-65 Washdown Capable Servo-motors
Elk River, MN
Dynetic Systems has released enhanced washdown capable motor designs to the IP-65 standard. This is accomplished using IP-65 compatible components in the wiring connector and all joints, as well as stainless steel sealed bearings and shafts. Replaceable
brushes are protected using 0-rings in the brush cap. Optional encoders are enclosed in an IP-65 rated housing. One recent application uses 1.5 inch diameter motors in a precision positioning device conducting food processing/packaging. The system requires periodic washdown, and the servo-motors are performing flawlessly in this environment.
IP codes are a standard, developed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), designed to numerically rate electrical equipment on the level of protection provided by the enclosures. The first digit of the code describes the level of protection from solid objects, which in the case of IP-65 is dust tight (no ingress). The second digit describes the level of protection from liquids, which for IP-65 is water jets projected from any direction shall have no harmful effects. The highest standard for liquid, an 8, is protection from continuous immersion in water.
These special motors achieve all performance requirements with minimal extra weight and size, while maintaining the same high quality that Dynetic Systems is known for throughout the motion control industry. Features standard to all Dynetic Systems motors
include:
Stainless steel ABEC-3 or better bearings
Stainless steel shafts
Precision machined 6061 aluminum endcaps
Plated solid steel housings
Custom leads and connectors tailored to specific applications
Micro-balanced skewed armatures
Commutators diamond machined to exact roundness to enhance brush life
Armature wire gauge and turns specified for specific application requirements
Precision neutralization of completed motors
24 hour run-in and electrical performance measured by serial number prior to shipping.
These features and more define the high degree of craftsmanship, customization, and responsiveness that set Dynetic Systems apart from the crowd.
