Delta Tau Introduces Geo PMAC 400 and 600 Programmable Servo Motor Amplifiers

Geo PMAC Servo Drives Support a Wide Range of Motor Types including Linear, Brushless and Induction Servomotors.

CHATSWORTH, CA— August 17, 2004— Delta Tau Data Systems Inc., the technology leader in multi-axis programmable motion control solutions, today announced the newest addition to the Geo PMAC family of programmable servo amplifiers, the Geo PMAC 400 and 600. These two new products continue to expand Delta Tau’s strategy of combining the power of PMAC2 motion controllers with our Geo servo amplifiers in one compact, easy to use package. The Geo PMAC amplifiers provide the flexibility and power to support a wide variety of motor types, power ranges and user interfaces.

“The Geo PMAC amplifiers provide customers with a single solution to fit a wide range of machine automation applications, making connectivity, tuning and programming much easier,” said Brad Landseadel, Power Product Manager, Delta Tau Data Systems, Inc.

The embedded PMAC2 motion controller within the Geo PMAC 400 and 600 can be programmed for virtually any type of motion control application and includes PLC programming features for logic control, CNC, gantries and even robotics with kinematics. Because these new programmable amplifiers are based on the PMAC2 motion controller, all of the development tools and user knowledge base are transferable.

Geo PMAC is designed to operate directly from 240 VAC power mains. Additionally, only 24VDC power is required for control power. Geo PMAC programmable amplifiers are available in 2, 4, and 6-axis packages, simplifying installation and wiring, and reducing panel space requirements.

Standard features of the motion controller include:

Motorola DSP 56k Digital Signal Processor

Standard USB port

Stand-alone operation

Linear and circular interpolations

256 motion program capacity

64 asynchronous PLC program capability

36-bit position range (+/- 64 billion counts)

Standard features of the amplifier include:

Direct line connections on 240 VAC mains, single* or three phase
