Motorola Launches Asset and Performance Management Services for Private Network Customers

Enables public safety customers to optimize network usage, improve utilization of existing systems and equipment, and more accurately plan for future communications technologies

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Sept. 12 /-- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today expanded its service offerings for emergency responders and public safety customers by announcing the additions of asset and performance management services to its portfolio. These new services will help communications systems managers optimize the performance of their networks and equipment, while improving the accuracy of utilization reports and future
technology plans.

"Motorola understands that public safety professionals are under increasing pressure to maximize a growing number of assets to ensure that all resources are being effectively utilized and are ready to perform in critical moments," said Bill Scapin, director, Motorola Government and Commercial Markets. "As part of our continuing commitment to public safety customers, we have tailored our asset and performance management services to meet their needs for more accurate resource tracking, reporting, and planning."

Motorola's asset management service includes software to improve visibility into the readiness of equipment. This application includes the automation of preventative maintenance and repair cycles for equipment and vehicles, service and repair histories, inventory management, and financial reporting. Customers can also use the application to track and schedule technology upgrades for their vehicle fleets.

Motorola will also provide consulting and professional services to assist customers with the implementation and operation of the asset management services solution.

"We hear growing concern from the public safety community over the increasing complexity of maintaining vehicles and equipment," added Scapin. "By providing our customers with customized tools and services, we can help them keep mission-critical assets ready for use, while improving control over inventories and costs."

Motorola has also unveiled its performance management service offering to enable communication system managers to optimize their private networks. With this new service, users can evaluate system load parameters and identify when and where bottlenecks may occur. Designed around the needs of ASTRO(R) 25 systems users, this new service helps customers more accurately evaluate network capacity, analyze trends, and allows for more precise future system growth planning.

"Whether it's the network, the devices in their hands, or the means to optimize performance, Motorola is here to provide public safety professionals with the technology solutions and services they need to help save lives," said Scapin.
