CANTON, Mass., Oct. 5 -- NEI (NASDAQ:NENG), a leading provider of application platforms, appliances and support services for software developers, OEMs and service providers worldwide, today announced availability of a high-performance 1U server appliance for enterprise-class application deployments. The S-1900 R2 appliance combines dual multi-core Intel® Xeon 5500 processor performance with integrated hardware RAID and dual redundant 650W AC power supplies to maximize reliability and uptime for business-critical applications.

Additionally, the platform supports up to eight processing cores per system and can host either Microsoft Windows® or Linux operating systems.

Evaluation units of the S-1900 R2 are immediately available with production quantities expected through 2013. Base-configuration pricing starts at $2,150 each.
