Advantech Launches New & Advanced Wireless Serial Device Servers

Advantech has introduced two new wireless serial device servers, the EKI-1351 and EKI-1352. These WLAN enabled devices combine rugged, compact and fast 1 or 2 RS-232/422/485 ports with support for the new 802.11b, and 802.11g protocols, which provides more reliable communications for wireless communications. Furthermore, each COM port features high-speed throughput (up to 1.2Mbps) with 921K-baud technology, fulfilling high data transmission needs. EKI-1351 and 1352 also have built-in dual-power inputs (12~48VDC) with 1 power fail relay to detect operation status and ensure the device works normally. These features make the EKI-1351and EKI-1352 the most flexible and powerful wireless Serial Device Servers currently available to the industrial market.

EKI-1351 and EKI-1352 combines various operations to fulfill customers' advanced needs. For example, TCP server/client and UDP mode allow simultaneous connection with up to 5 hosts through the RS-232/422/485 serial ports for advanced data transmission and communication, such as broadcast and polling operations. In broadcast mode, EKI Serial Device Servers handle a command from one application and reply to the data from the serial port to all applications connected to this serialport. In polling mode; EKI Serial Device Servers handle the commands from one application and reply to this application only. Query from other applications must be queued and wait for current process completion.

The EKI-1351 and EKI-1352 are now available for ordering. Contact your local Advantech sales representative, or Advantech directly to learn more.
