Rotex® Minerals Separator(TM) Meets Demanding Screening Requirements of Industrial Sand Applications

Separator Excels When Sharp Separations and High Efficiencies Are Required

CINCINNATI, OH (October 27, 2005) - The ROTEX® Minerals Separator(TM) meets the demanding screening requirements of industrial sand applications, such as sharp separations and high efficiencies. Rotex Inc., a global supplier of screening equipment, designed the separator to maximize product recoveries at material temperatures up to 400º F.

The Minerals Separator features a screen deck slope of six degrees to meet glass, filter, and frac sand specifications and maximize screen efficiency. The elliptical-linear motion of the Minerals Separator equally distributes materials to all screen decks, ensures uniform bed-depth across the entire screen surface, and provides for aggressive blinding control.

The stacked, multiple-deck, tray access design allows for individual screen access without the need to remove all decks. A patented Lift-Rail(TM) system with non-binding stainless steel cam activation, enables easy screen frame installation and removal. Single deck screen cloth can be changed in ten minutes, and an entire machine change takes two hours.

The single reaction cartridge with two spherical roller bearings is designed for 200,000 hours of service. The Minerals Separator utilizes a support shaft suspension system with industrial U-joint bearings and no-maintenance, low torsion center springs. An optional floor-mounted suspension stand is available for installations without overhead support. Abrasion-resistant steel construction and "rockbox" landing areas allow for repeated impact on high-wear surfaces.

A silicone seal system comes standard on all Minerals Separator's that press fits into place without adhesives. The seal is universal throughout the machine providing exceptional sealing between screen decks on fine separations. A unique sleeveless brush system on the discharge doors eliminates traditional connecting sleeves for quicker screen deck access. Integral vent connections enable enhanced dust control on dust prone materials.

The Minerals Separator is used for such industrial sand applications as glassmaking, metal casting, metallurgical, chemical production, building products, paint and coatings, and ceramics and refractories.
