New PEPI Thermal Control Builds Safety

NORTH CANTON, OH - Portage Electric Products, Inc. (PEPI)
has introduced its first self-hold thermostat for small
motor, transformer, and appliance applications. The PEPI
Model J(S) Series Thermostat adds an extra degree of safety
by keeping the circuit open after a fault condition until
the power source is removed, and the unit is allowed to
cool. The self-hold functionality is due to an internal
heat source that prevents a circuit from closing, providing
enhanced level of protection for the product, and the
consumer. The Model J(S) is available for both 120 VAC and
240 VAC applications.

The Model J(S) type is the latest addition to the popular
PEPI Model J Series. These devices feature a fold-over,
low profile case design that minimizes the amount of space
required for their installation. The Model J(S) Series has
been evaluated or certified for use as a recognized
component by UL (CUL included), IEC, and VDE. Available
with nominal calibration temperatures from 60°C to 160° C.
They can also be shipped with any kind of factory applied
insulating lead wires up to 18 gauge. If desired, they can
also be shipped without leads.

PEPI thermostats and thermal protectors are used in a wide
variety of applications including operating controls for
small appliances, battery packs, small motors, solenoids,
transformers and converters, personal care products and
numerous OEM applications for both domestic and
international markets.
