December 13, 2013 - Combining optical and electronic parts in stainless steel housing, Stand-Alone Sirius SI23 features digital RS232 or RS485 communication interfaces, analog 4–20 mA output, and 5 ms response time. Spectral range of 2–2.6 m makes unit suitable for induction heating, steel and metal heat treat processes, kilns, vacuum furnaces, welding, and composite temperatures above 50C. With PSCWin software, users can record, analyze, and adjust all pyrometer parameters.

Process Sensors Introduces New Self-Contained Pyrometer: SI23


Franklin Lakes, NJ - Process Sensors Corporation introduces its newest self-contained pyrometer model, The Stand-Alone Sirius SI23. With laser sighting, the SI23 delivers high resolution fixed focus optics with small spot size, digital RS232 or RS485 communication interfaces, analog 4 to 20 mA output and very fast 5ms, speed of response. Optical and electronic parts are enclosed in a rugged stainless steel housing.

Utilizing a short wavelength spectral response of 2 to 2.6u, the Sirius SI23 is a perfect choice for induction heating, steel and metal heat treat processes, kilns, vacuum furnaces, research and development applications, welding and composite temperatures above 50C. Sales Manager, Scott Nagle states, "Since the emissivity of metallic or shiny surfaces decrease with shorter wavelengths and the SI23 operates at short wavelength, it is therefore able to offer much better repeatability and accuracy performance than pyrometers with longer wavelengths."

As standard, the high performance Sirius SI23 is offered with PSCWin Software for recording, analysis, and adjustment of all pyrometer parameters. Accessories include a water-cooling jacket, air purge, scanning mirror, adjustable mounting bracket and swivel base mount.
