BT Launches Security Suite of Services for Compliance Reporting
Enables enterprises to access compliance reports customized to their needs
WASHINGTON, June 5 -- GARTNER IT Security Summit -- BT today announced a new suite of security services that will proactively provide a range of compliance reports to enterprise customers based on those customers' discrete security and compliance requirements. As part of BT Counterpane's Enterprise Compliance Framework offering, the new services will simplify the reporting process and enable customers to automatically receive compliance reports designed specifically to address their internal corporate and auditing needs.
The suite of services offers monitoring capabilities, forensic-grade archiving and customizable report templates suitable for audits against major IT security standards, such as Sarbannes-Oxley and PCI. It provides a broad range of security compliance reports, for example, tracking and reporting details about who has accessed which systems and when, duration of access by user and information on which users may have reset passwords, altered access to secure databases or authorized other users priority access to critical systems. And because the reports are customized by customer, the new suite of compliance reports are dynamic, enabling customers to modify and grow the menu of reports they receive as external regulations and their company's internal requirements change over time.
"We designed the new suite of compliance reports to create a process that ensures the right people within a business have the right access to the right information -- day in and day out," explained Toby Weir-Jones, director of product management, BT Counterpane. "Beyond the kinds of monitoring information we've provided previously, customers have been asking for an expanded portfolio of compliance reports, customized to their specific requirements. They want to proactively receive such reports on a frequent basis that cover a number of network and security components, any one of which could impact the integrity of their information. So in direct response to customers' requests, we've developed the new suite of compliance reports to enhance customers' overall security practices."
BT Counterpane's compliance reporting suite of services has been successfully piloted with a number of customers since last fall and will be offered as a value-added service to customers globally beginning next quarter.
