The new S15 Premium Line: A Completely Sealed 15" Stand-Alone Stainless Steel NEMA4X PC for Challenging Environments in Food Processing

noax Technologies, specializing in rugged and reliable industrial PCs, is expanding the industrial Steel Series with a new 15" version. The completely sealed 15" stainless steel PC is specially designed for the challenging environments in the food industry due to its V2A (304) stainless steel enclosure. It has a totally smooth surface without edges that collect dirt, designed according to safety standard IP65 (NEMA 4X). This allows the touch PC to be easily cleaned and disinfected and having the production designation "S15 Premium Line".
A number of important product innovations have been achieved with this new Line. The wash down computer sets itself apart by having a polished V2A 1.4031 (304) stainless steel enclosure, with totally smooth surfaces. Enclosures are also available with V4A stainless steel. With the newly designed hygienic, plastic front, the "S15 Premium Line" has no gaps or joints between the enclosure and the touch display, and thus conforms to even the most stringent hygiene requirements, as they exist in food processing. Due to its enclosed construction without ventilation slots or external fans, the industrial computers is completely splash proof and qualifies for safety class IP65 (NEMA 4X). It is standard that the panel computer includes a high-contrast and very durable 15" industrial TFT display, which has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 SXGA, ensuring good legibility under even the worst conditions. The integrated, resistive analog touch panel, with hardened plastic surface assures simple operation. When the industrial PCs are continuously used in locations having harsh environments, such as exposure to acid or caustics, touch-sensitive, adhesive safety film can be added. Other user-friendly features are the 20 integrated, freely programmable keys, and function keys in combination with LEDs for on/off, brightness and contrast settings, or for operating status.
Easy computer integration to existing production environments by multiple mounting possibilities
During the development of the new S15 Premium Line, noax Technologies placed special emphasis on the hygienic, faultless and simple integration abilities of the stand-alone computer in the production environment. This allows the new wash down panel computer to be compatible with all comparable, standard bracket systems, solving the problem of cable routing since they are simply routed through the bracket. A fearsome disarray of cables in hygienic areas is thus a thing of the past. The industrial computer can also be mounted on a wall or to various carriers by means of a stainless steel bracket.
Pentium M power, numerous on-board interfaces and expansion possibilities by standard slots
The new 15" industrial PC is equipped with the noax all-in-one N8 motherboard and provided with an Intel-Pentium M 1.4 GHz processor and a 60 GB hard drive. In addition, the RAM can be upgraded to 2 GB. Standard also is a board which can support numerous on-board interfaces, such as 2 x RS 232 (optional RS 433 or 485, TTY), 5 x USB, Network Ethernet (RJ 45), LPT, Monitor-DVI, PS/2 and floppy connections. In addition, the N8 board allows for diverse expansion possibilities due to 2 on-board PCI slots, compact flash type II and mini PCI sockets. This allows diverse peripheral units, such as weighing systems, readers and scanners to be connected in a simple and uncomplicated way. Even the connection of printers, external keyboards and drives is no problem. Moreover, the N8 supports an integrated Intel 3D graphic controller.

The S15 Premium Line is extremely rugged and long-lived due to the use of exclusive industrial, electronic components, in addition to a 5-year embedded road map and the in-house developed, customized, all-in-one motherboard. Because of the use of the single-board plat-form, it is possible for noax to consistently avoid cable bundling, which represents the main cause of failure in industrial PCs. The noax boards also offer high vibration and shock resistance by special metal spring attachments to the board and electronic components.
