New Fischer Ultimate Original Series for Harsh Environment

Fischer Connectors announces new interconnect solutions Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series specially designed for a broad range of harsh environment applications. The new Original Series offers rugged, compact, lightweight, sealed connectors and cable assembly solutions ideally suited to withstand a variety of severe environmental, industrial and chemical conditions.

Major features of the new Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series include rugged, miniature and ultralight design, extremely robust keying, high shock and vibration resistance, excellent shielding, and ultimate sealing level IP68/69K even unmated with Fischer's new facilitated cable assembly solutions.

Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is perfectly suited for harsh environment applications where ruggedness and extreme reliability are paramount. Its four extremely robust mechanical codings, allowing an easy mating even in the dark, are complete with visual coding to prevent misconnection. The push-pull connector is available in a wide range of body styles, sizes and configurations including multipole contacts from 2 to 42 poles. The compact product design with short plugs, small and easy to handle and low profile receptacles makes it perfect for connected devices with restricted space requirements. The housing is available in grey natural chrome and black anti-reflective body coating.

Thanks to its new one-piece plug body design associated with cable assembly containing highly performing epoxy potting, Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is IP68/69K sealed even unmated, tested according to IEC norm 60529. The Original Series is also complete with EMC 360 high performance shielding.

Made of special high resistant aluminium, Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is 50% lighter than typical brass connectors. This new line of connectors is immune to even the toughest elements including fog, salt spray (5% 35C, MIL STD-202 Method101A), sand, and moisture. It is able to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations from -55C to +135C. With its high shock and vibration resistance, the Original Series offers an effective solution to any critical harsh environment application. Its long lifetime usage is guaranteed for 10,000 mating cycles.

Fischer Connectors provides complete, easy to assemble, turnkey solutions - connectors, cable assemblies and overmolding - all from one supplier. Cable assembly solutions are available in both straight and right angle overmolding. For ultimate protection of unmated connectors in the field, Fischer also developed molded soft IP68 sealing caps.
