Seal Management Software is offered as online service.
May 14, 2010 -
Built on in-house SEPRO service software that maps seal data for systems and individual plant components, SEPROnet Online Software can be accessed in real-time from any web browser. By being able to view information about pump systems and seal functions, customers can maintain production schedules and streamline maintenance, while minimizing parts inventory. Program additionally offers automatic generation of fault reports and statistical analysis of failures and details of seal damage.

EagleBurgmann Introduces SEPROnet - an Online Seal Management System
(Houston, Texas) EagleBurgmann, a world leader in the manufacture of mechanical seals, systems, packing and expansion joints, has introduced SEPROnet - an online program that allows customers to document and evaluate seal-related data.
SEPROnet is built on EagleBurgmann's in-house SEPRO service software program that maps seal data for systems and individual plant components. Customers can access SEPROnet in real-time from any web browser. The program features an easy-to-use navigation interface and an extensive range of customizable evaluations and reports.
According to Michael Janak, Application Engineer for Alliance Contracts at EagleBurgmann, SEPROnet was developed in response to customer feedback. "Our SEPRO service software program provided information for our employees, but could not be accessed by our customers," explained Janak. "Now, with SEPROnet, our customers can view their entire mechanical seal population including repair updates and maintenance evaluations."
While the majority of seal documentation used to be in the form of Excel spreadsheets, today's end-users require instant access to obtain an overview of their installations. Being able to quickly view information about their pump systems and seal functions, allows customers to maintain crucial production schedules and streamline maintenance, while minimizing parts inventory and related costs.
"It is essential that we have the ability to document and certify the conformity of our products and services," said Janak. "SEPROnet allows us to pinpoint business optimization measures and potential savings as part of a continuous improvement process for our customers."
In addition to an inventory of mechanical seals in use on-site, the software helps customers manage the repair process including progress of a requested repair. The software also provides statistical evaluation and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Other SEPROnet functions include:
o Easily viewed life cycle of individual machines and seals, including repair history over service life
o Automatic generation of fault reports through an email alert system
o Statistical analysis of failures and details of damage to seals
o Documentation of retrofits and technical upgrades
o Monitoring of repair costs
o Display of performance of entire systems including MTBR (mean time between repair) and functionality of individual seal types and applications
o Documentation and audit trail for improvement processes (generation of action plans, automatic email reminder function, etc.)
o Recommendations for preventive maintenance measures as well as ability to identify trends and alleviate problems before they occur
Two versions of SEPROnet are available. SEPROnet eco is a pure data management tool, allowing the customer to view their initial seal installation, along with other pertinent information relating to seal management. SEPROnet pro has the same capabilities as SEPROnet eco but also provides optional extras for internal monitoring and 24/7 evaluation of plant performance. Some of SEPROnet pro's functions include the ability to perform statistical analysis, evaluate MTBF (mean time between failure) and determine bad actors.
