Parker Launches Protective Screen Fittings

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Parker Hannifin Corporation's Tube Fittings Division has developed a line of screen fittings designed for in-line or in-port "last chance" protection.
The screen fittings-which are not intended to replace typical filtration equipment-offer nominal micron ratings ranging from 65 to 480 microns and are available in standard sizes -4 through -12 for use with Parker's Triple-LokŪ 37° flare and Seal-Lok(TM) O-ring face seal fittings. Constructed with stainless steel screen elements, the -4 size features a basket-style screen, while the remaining sizes are dome style.

Typical Screen Fittings Applications:
o Gage and instrumentation protection
o Shielding of critical hydraulic components such as pump compensator controls, load-sensing controls, proportional valves and relief valves
o Prevent clogging of precision orifices
o Protection of costly components in test bench circuits from particle contamination created by failed components
o Reduce "attachment" induced contamination that damages hydraulic and pneumatic tools and attachments

The screen fittings have been tested to determine maximum pressure drop, screen retention and bidirectional flow capacity. For more information on these, consult Bulletin 4300-SF. For technical assistance, contact Chris Fleece, Product Engineer, Parker Hannifin Tube Fittings Division, at (614) 324-8227 or cfleece@parker.com.
