New Scratch Resistant Coating for Molded Plastics
West Caldwell, NJ -- Performance Coatings International (PCI) announced the availability of VueguardŽ 801 WC scratch and abrasion resistant coating, for injection molders and other plastic processors seeking to add high performance capability to their products and services.
VueguardŽ 801 WC is a water-clear, solvent-based UV curable coating that maintains optical clarity on molded plastics. In tests, using steel wool (0000) on PC substrates scratch resistance is increased by 5,000% -- no scratches at 50 psi and 25 revolutions. By offering in-house application of this coating, molders will be able to provide plastic products with superior appearance and longevity. The VueguardŽ 801 WC can be applied via spray, dip, spin, and flow processes. If molders require it, PCI can assist with the development of an in-house system to apply the coating or contract manufacturing.
