A Ready to Use LightSwitch Screen for Complete Scheduling
PITTSBURGH, -- ComponentOne, a leading component vendor in the Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner program, today announced the release of ComponentOne Scheduler for LightSwitch. Microsoft Visual Studio LightSwitch is a recent addition to the Visual Studio family and offers its users a way to create high-quality business applications for the desktop and the cloud without code.
ComponentOne, known as the vendor with the "killer app" for its OLAP for LightSwitch product, has expanded its LightSwitch offering by introducing the Scheduler, a ready-to-use LightSwitch screen that gives its users a complete, intuitive scheduling application they'll recognize.
ComponentOne Scheduler for LightSwitch is an extension that comes complete with five built-in views, recurring appointments, reminders, labels, data binding, grouping, import/export capabilities and much more. "There isn't an easier way to create a custom scheduler," said Dan Beall, product manager at ComponentOne.
The ComponentOne Scheduler for LightSwitch has already been called a "ground breaking control," by Microsoft Silverlight MVP Michael Washington in his December 5, 2011, blog post on the LightSwitch Help Website.
Mr. Washington goes on to share that, "In many ways the ComponentOne Scheduler LightSwitch Extension validates the brilliance and promise of Visual Studio LightSwitch. This LightSwitch Extension allows a non-programmer the ability to create complex highly customizable applications, which combine and orchestrate several data sources." In a subsection of the same article entitled "How the ComponentOne Scheduler Control Extension 'Raises the Bar,'" Washington cites how the control works in the normal flow of LightSwitch, how it automatically handles details such as relating a resource to an appointment, etc.
