Stanley Stays Sharp with FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ Coating

New Coating Protects Blade From Abrasion and Provides Rust Protection

SUMMARY: Stanley introduces the Stanley® FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ Coating, a composite coating that provides six times more abrasion protection and results in 50% less friction when compared to Stanley® lacquered saws. The coating also supplies the saw with twice as much rust protection when compared with traditional Stanley® saws. The Stanley® FatMax® saw features the patented SharpTooth™ design to cut 50% faster while a thicker blade significantly reduces binding.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 19, 2004 - Stanley introduces the FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ featuring a composite coating that protects the blade from abrasion. The protective coating produces two times more rust protection and six times more abrasion protection, resulting in 50% less friction when compared to Stanley® lacquered saws. The FatMax® Saw is ideal for cutting wet and immature wood, plasterboard, large timbers and other composite materials that can be abrasive.

The saw features a SharpTooth™ design capable of cutting 50% faster than traditional saws while a 15% thicker blade reduces binding. The FatMax Saw with Blade Armor™ coating features induction hardened teeth that stay sharp three to five times longer in comparison to traditional saws, giving the Stanley® FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ coating the durability and long life pros demand. The handle is approximately 60% percent thicker than other panel saws and has an ergonomically designed slip-resistant grip, providing ultimate comfort and control.

“The Stanley® FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ Coating is a well-protected and long-lasting saw that will stay in excellent condition to give you the sharpest cut every time,” said Etienne Bourgeois, Global Product Manager, Cutting Tools. “Almost every single pro carries a panel saw and, oftentimes, metal tools are thrown into the tool box causing saw blades to dull. The addition of Blade Armor™ will keep the blade in better condition.”

Stanley® FatMax® Saw with Blade Armor™ Coating comes in both a 15” and 20” size. It is available at Stanley Preview Dealers and has a suggested retail price of $19.99. To find one of the over 8,500 Stanley Preview Dealer hardware stores within a specific area, please visit www.stanleyworks.com.
