Cooper Bussmann® Quik-Spec(TM) Heavy Duty Industrial Safety Switch

October 17, 2007, St. Louis, MO - Improving workplace safety was the top priority in developing the new Cooper Bussmann® Quik-Spec(TM) Safety Switch. The heavy-duty switch maximizes user protection with its IP-20 finger-safe CUBEFuse® integration, considered the safest fuse installation on the market. The current-limiting Class J performance of the CUBEFuse also makes the new Safety Switch superior to traditional models in reducing dangerous arc-flash hazards, both in energy and incident levels. The flange operated handle is easy to operate with electrical gloves, and is lockable with up to three padlocks to protect maintenance workers.

The new switch is easy to specify since it meets NEC® 110.9 requirements, and is listed to UL98 for enclosed deadfront switches and UL50 for enclosures for electrical equipment.

As an added benefit, the Safety Switch offers an optional easyID(TM) fuse-viewing window which provides clear, immediate visual feedback on switch contact status, and allows users to view fuse indication without having to open the switch door.

"To help our customers achieve their greatest potential, Cooper Bussmann products and services focus on the three critical issues most related to maximizing productivity through protection: downtime reduction, workplace safety and Code compliance," said Kevin Hug, Cooper Bussmann senior product manager. "We feel that our new Quik-Spec Safety Switch exceeds customer expectations in each of these areas. We are proud to be an industry leader in providing safe, superior circuit protection products."
