Available in heights from 160-1,510 mm in intervals of 150 mm, Safety Light Curtains offer 30, 40, 50, and 90 mm resolution options, and can be mounted vertically or horizontally along floor to detect foot traffic. Light Grids are available in pairs in 2, 3, and 4-beam versions. Both include emitter/receiver pair that create multi-beam barrier of IR light, protecting operator from hazards associated with mechanical and hydraulic power presses, molding presses, and automated assembly machines.

ifm Introduces Safety Light Curtains and Light Grids
EXTON, PA - ifm efector inc., a leading manufacturer of sensors and controls, introduces their new line of safety light curtains and light grids. ifm's light curtains can help to protect an operator from the hazards associated with material positioning such as mechanical and hydraulic power presses, molding presses, stamping, forming, and automated assembly machine. To safeguard a larger area in a plant, ifm's light curtains and grids can be mounted to protect the perimeter of a machine, robot or other equipment. If the area is to be protected from several sides, corner mirrors can be used.
Light curtain pairs are available in various heights - from 160mm to 1510 mm (12 meters) in intervals of 150mm. Resolution options are 30, 40, 50 and 90 mm. These curtains can be mounted vertically or horizontally along the floor to detect foot traffic. Light grids available in pairs in 2-, 3- and 4-beam versions.
ifm's low-profile light curtains and grids include an emitter and receiver pair that create a multi-beam barrier of infrared light. Each pair is available in Type 2 / SIL 2 or Type 4 / SIL 3 safety rating according to IEC61496. Housing profiles measure 28x30mm for less intrusive installation. Angle brackets are supplied for quick mounting, and the units do not require software for installation.
Starting list price for a light curtain pair is $570.00 (US) and $695.00 (US) for a light grid pair.
