DemandTec Delivers New Features to Help Retailers and Consumer Products Manufacturers in a Changing Economy


Enhancements in Analytics, Operational Efficiency, and Ease of Use Featured in Latest Release of Optimization Suite

SAN CARLOS, Calif., May 12 -- DemandTec, Inc. (NASDAQ:DMAN), a leading provider of on-demand optimization solutions for retailers and consumer products manufacturers, today announced the latest release of its software-as-a-service suite has been deployed and is in use by DemandTec customers. The two most recent software updates deliver new analytics, enhanced operational efficiency and greater ease of use thereby streamlining the process of making better decisions supported by world-class analytics.

The most recent software updates introduced dozens of new features across DemandTec's suite of software services and supporting platform infrastructure. Among them, retailers using DemandTec will benefit from:

-- Increased integration between promotion planning and downstream advertising tasks
-- Configurable product costing that allows users to simulate merchandising optimization strategies under a wide array of future cost, vendor support, and related assumptions
-- Enhanced automation in areas such as price updates to account for changes in taxes and other environmental factors

Consumer products manufacturers using DemandTec will benefit from:
-- Everyday Low Price (EDLP) planning support to provide improved planning flexibility and planning functionality for planned everyday price tactics
-- Market share metrics offering projected share change based on trade plan assumptions, providing a more strategic level of visibility to trade planning professionals.
-- Dynamic product groups for scenario planning driven by specified item attributes. This capability improves trade planning efficiency, allowing business users to more rapidly iterate events and category plans

The software service updates described above were deployed simultaneously to DemandTec's network of global retail and consumer products manufacturer customers, made possible by the company's Software-as-a-Service model. DemandTec customers receive software updates approximately every quarter to ensure the latest application functionality, science and infrastructure is utilized.
