New Service Can Verify SSNs with the SSA Prior to Hiring
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., May 10 -- DiscoverSource, a leading provider of income and identity verification tools to financial institutions, has just launched a pre-employment version of its SSA Direct service. This solution will allow human resource departments to verify the social security numbers of applicants directly with the U. S. Social Security Administration on a pre-hire basis.
To answer large employers' needs for a more definitive SSN verification service, DiscoverSource is now offering an FCRA compliant tool, which will verify an applicant's social security number, name and date of birth directly with the Social Security Administration. This new tool was developed because of the inherent deficiencies in SSN trace products currently utilized for pre- employment screening purposes. Instead of verifying against the self confessed information from credit repositories, SSA Direct verifies directly with the source, Social Security Administration records.
