Compatible with standard surface mount reflow processes, surface mount chip capacitor is specifically designed for tip and ring telecom applications and is offered with Flexiterm® termination, which prevents PC board flexture cracks. It has X7R dielectric rating from -55 to 125°C with capacitance value of up to 1.2 µF, 250 Vdc TELCO rating, and dielectric withstanding voltage of 625 V. EIA sizes range from 0805-2225 with maximum thickness of 0.080 in.

AVX Expands Surface Mount Chip Capacitors for Telecommunication Market to Include Flexiterm®

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (September 10, 2008) -- AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions, has developed a low profile, surface mount chip capacitor specifically designed for tip and ring telecom applications. Designated the tip and ring capacitor, the capacitor features a standard nickel barrier solder plate termination and are compatible with standard surface mount reflow processes.
The Flexiterm® termination is now offered in the tip and ring capacitors.
"The surface mount chip capacitor provides excellent surge protection and is ideal for PCMCIA cards with low profile chips and also today's high density low profile telecom applications. The capacitor is also available in our award winning Flexiterm® termination which prevents PC board flexture cracks. The capacitor has a X7R dielectric rating from -55°C to 125°C with a capacitance value of up to 1.2micofarads. The MLC, surface mount chip capacitor has a 250VDC TELCO rating and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 625V. EIA sizes range from 0805 to 2225 with a maximum thickness of 0.080".
Available in tape and reel packaging for high volume handling, typical pricing for the surface mount capacitor starts at $0.15 in quantities of 10K with delivery from stock to 10 weeks.
