Toshiba Machine's New TH1050 Scara Robot Is Built For Speed

Elk Grove Village, IL - (August 4, 2005) The new TH1050 Scara Robot from Toshiba Machine is built from the ground up to perform high-speed operations. Featuring a low-profile, duct-less design, and a heavy-duty housing, the TH1050 offers the stability and configuration to achieve rapid performance. The TH1050 reaches composite speeds of 8.73 m/s and three-axis speeds of 2000 mm/s. With a 2 kg payload, standard cycle times are 0.48 s; maximum payload mass is 20 kg. The highly rigid arm of this Scara Robot can handle continuous hours of heavy loads. Arm lengths for the TH1050 reach 1050 mm.

Positioning repeatability with the TH1050 is +/- 0.03 mm for X-Y (plane), +/-0.02 mm for Z-axis (vertical) and +/- 0.03 degrees for Axis 4 (Z-axis rotation).

Toshiba Machine continues to make advances in automation with its TH Series. An upgrade to its successful SR line, TH Series products offer a wide range of arm length variations, larger payload masses and high rigidity. The incorporation of an absolute system as standard eliminates the difficulties associated with home return. All TH Series products, including the TH1050, include a full-function TS Controller. This highly advanced controller can control a maximum of five axes simultaneously. It includes a built-in PLC, an operation panel, a multitask function and many more features.
