Janome Industrial Equipment Launches Servo SCARA

Elk Grove Village, Ill. – October 16, 2003 – Jamac, Inc., a distributor of Janome Industrial Equipment, will introduce a servo motor-driven version of its Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm device as an affordable high-speed, high-accuracy robot.

The new JS250/350 Series multipurpose SCARA, designed primarily for automating and assembly lines, incorporates a high-speed horizontal movement of up to 6,300 mm per second with high rigidity to achieve a competitive standard cycle time. Other features specific to the JS Series include smooth, accurate, 90-degree fluid dispensing even at high speeds, as well as the ability to network up to 31 SCARA via RS-485 connection. Software improvements include new programming capabilities to accommodate advanced robot language, plus several functions that can be customized to the user’s needs.

Other JS250/350 Series multipurpose SCARA features include new internal flash memory which eliminates the need for a memory card. New “Administration Mode” allows simple menus to be created for operators, reducing the potential for operator error. A new optional user log-in name and password restrict specific operating functions. Customers now have the ability to select “Sink type” or “Source type” at the time of purchase for easier installation.

Engineers of the new JS Series expect the new technology to increase productivity and automation, while maintaining consistent high quality and reducing consumption of resources and energy. The new servo SCARAs have a small footprint and can be used in conjunction with other equipment in production facilities such as assembly, transportation, packing, sealing, dispensing, deburring, and parts inspection.

Jamac, Inc. is a subsidiary of Janome Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan. As a distributor of Janome Industrial Equipment, Jamac offers affordable automation solutions for the U.S., Canada and Mexico. For more information, please visit www.janomeie.com or call (847) 758-0900.
