SATA to IDE Drive Converter extends life of legacy systems.
June 29, 2009 -
Seated directly on hard drive, EzIDE offers secure way to adapt computer originally designed for use only with IDE (PATA) drives to use SATA drives. Attachment provides solid, secure connection between SATA drive and existing IDE controller on motherboard and requires no driver or system resources, enabling it to be used with old and new operating systems. Thus this IDE to SATA adapter card may be of interest to companies with legacy manufacturing and robotic systems.

New EzIDE SATA to IDE Drive Converter Extends Life of Legacy Systems
Hollywood, FL....Data Protection Solutions by Arco has introduced the EzIDE, a sturdy little IDE to SATA adapter card that allows a SATA drive to connect to an IDE controller. The EzIDE SATA to IDE drive converter offers a simple and secure way to adapt a computer originally designed for use only with IDE (PATA) drives for use with the newer, less costly and more readily available SATA drives.
The EzIDE SATA to IDE drive converter seats directly on the hard drive so it requires no bus slot. The EzIDE SATA to IDE adapter card attaches firmly to the drive, providing a solid and secure connection between the SATA drive and the existing IDE controller on the motherboard.
The EzIDE SATA to IDE drive converter requires no driver or system resources so it can be used with both old and new operating systems. It has been designed specifically to extend the functional life of older computer systems and to ensure that the IDE cable that connects the SATA drive and IDE port remains firmly and solidly in place.
The EzIDE will be of particular interest to companies with legacy manufacturing and robotic systems, many of which continue to run on older computer hardware and may use software or operating systems, such as DOS, which do not support SATA. The EzIDE SATA to IDE drive converter fools the computer hardware into seeing an IDE drive. Since it requires no drive and has no need to interact with operating system software, it can be used with a wide variety of operating systems, including MS-DOS, PC-DOS, UNIX, Windows and others. Additionally, it provides the kind of secure connection between the SATA drive and IDE port that a shop floor or rough environment may require
