April 11, 2005 - Offered in sizes from 1–4 in., Model S-PRO-S combines bursting disk and sensor into single assembly with range of burst pressures from 16–150 psig. When disk bursts, sensor’s circuit is broken, triggering activation of alarm. Placement of sensor and disk scoring on vent side present smooth surface to process, minimizing product build up. Non-fragmenting design prevents contamination from rupture disk pieces entering process after bursting.

Oseco Combines Sanitary Disk and Sensor in One

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (March 31, 2005) –Leading pressure relief expert, Oklahoma Safety Equipment Co., Inc. (Oseco), introduces the S-PRO-S, a one-piece rupture disk and sensor that simplifies installation and provides sanitary pressure relief protection and notification in the most demanding chemical, food processing and pharmaceutical applications.

Oseco’s S-PRO-S combines a bursting disk and sensor into a single assembly, eliminating additional tri-clamp ferrules needed to install a separate sensor. When the disk bursts, the sensor’s circuit is broken, triggering activation of an alarm on Oseco’s BDA module, or comparable alarm system. With quick alarm detection, bursting disks can be replaced and overpressure situations corrected with a minimum of process downtime.

The design of the S-PRO-S is ideal for use in sanitary services. Placement of the sensor and disk scoring on the vent side present a smooth surface to the process, minimizing product build up. A non-fragmenting design prevents contamination from rupture disk pieces entering the process after bursting. The uni-body system is able to withstand full vacuum (14.7 psi) without a separate vacuum support.

Available in wide range of sizes from 1” to 4”, the S-PRO-S sensor and disk is ideally suited for variety of applications in a broad range of burst pressures (from 16 to 150 psig). The system performs equally well in gas or liquid service applications, and high cycling environments.

Oseco, a Halma Group Company located in Broken Arrow, Okla., has been advancing the technology of pressure relief devices for over 20 years. The company precision-manufactures rupture disks, rupture panels, and other pressure relief products using computerized load cells and an advanced five-axis laser.
