Glacier Computer Announces a New Addition to the Everest Line of Rugged Forklift Terminals

Press release date: December 12, 2012

The E4500 Adds Features And Reduces Cost To The Everest Family

New Milford, CT -- Glacier Computer, a leading provider of rugged industrial computing solutions, announces the addition of the E4500 to the Everest line-up of fixed and vehicle mount terminals. The E4500 adds additional configuration options for their core markets of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and logistics. The E4500 compliments an existing product line of Everest computers that support Windows 7, Win CE and Linux applications.

“The Everest line of VMT’s has become an industry favorite. The E4500 adds more enhanced features but more importantly, increases the bottom line and offers additional options within the Everest product line”, says Glacier’s CEO, Ron D’Ambrosio. “Customers are always challenged with the decision to replace existing hardware or continue to repair older devices. Our job is to supply options and give advice on the best solution. Given the stability of the Everest product line, many customers today are electing to upgrade their older equipment rather than purchase new products. The E4500 is another solution from our toolkit for customers to consider.”

The Everest E4500 utilizes the Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor and comes in 10”, 12” and 15” resistive touch screen displays, along with optional screen blanking. Utilizing a solid state drive with both Windows and Linux operating systems, multiple I/O ports, vibration testing and a wide range of operational temperatures, ensures reliable performance in most rugged environments.

The Everest family of fixed and vehicle mount terminals continues to expand and provide dependable, reliable and affordable rugged terminals with a variety of operating systems, display sizes, mounting systems and peripherals. Glacier Computer offers experienced engineering services to customize hardware for specific customer requirements.
