Almco's Long-Radius Round-Bowl Machines Now Available as Basic Models with Possible Add-Ons
ALBERT LEA, Minnesota (September 7, 2005) - The five models of long-radius machines in the broad line of round-bowl vibratory finishing equipment from ALMCO, Inc., are now available as basic units with an option to add features previously included as standard.
The now-optional features include automatic separation of parts from the finishing media; automatic lubrication of the vibratory bearings; and a variable speed drive. While important to many buyers of round-bowl machines, the features can be added individually or later by others who prefer manual separation, no self-lubrication and constant speed, the company notes.
ALMCO's long-radius design allows once-around deburring of parts during a longer cycle, which is especially desirable in manufacturing cells requiring close coordination of all operations. Importantly, the parts tend to stay submerged in the finishing media for a longer period, which more deburring action and less likelihood of having to send parts with extremely tough burrs through the system a second time.
The company's five long-radius models, with tub capacities of 5, 9, 16, 25 and 40 cubic feet, are suited to both batch and individual parts finishing. They have a 1-inch-thick urethane lining for protection of parts in the abrasive media, variable time cycles of 5 to 15 minutes, and are compact in design to reduce floor-space requirements.
